MIDDLEBURY; Mr. Edward T. Conway, 71 of Middlebury passed away Monday May 17, 2010 at Yale - New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Maureen (Gardner) Conway.
Mr. Conway was born February 7, 1939 in Waterbury a son of the late Col. Edward H. and Eleanor (Darling) Conway and was raised in the Washington Hill neighborhood and various military bases in Alaska, New Jersey and Korea as the son of a career military officer. He attended Saint Francis Xavier Grammar School, Leavenworth High School and retired from the Anaconda American Brass Company in Waterbury after 40 plus years of service. Mr. Conway was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea and Japan.
Besides his wife he leaves his sons, Edward G. Conway and his wife Karen of Waterbury, Brendan P. Conway and his wife Dorothy of Naugatuck and Kerry T. Conway of Middlebury, his brothers, James R. Conway and his wife Donna of Danbury and Joseph W. Conway and his wife Fran of Waterbury, his sister, Patricia Katan of Bristol, his sister-in-law Susan S. Conway of Plantsville, his grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Shannon, Hannah, Seamus, Dillon, Emma, Elizabeth, Nathan and Devon and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Conway and his daughter-in-law Tammy Marie Conway.
Funeral services for Mr. Conway will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street to Saint Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin Street in Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Lake Elise cemetery in Middlebury.
