Waterbury/New Haven - Edward A. Bieler, 93, a resident of Waterbury, for almost 60 years, lived the last seven years in New Haven. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving children Linda Bieler, Robin Bieler, Philip Bieler; daughter in law Ruth Bieler and beloved grandchildren Charlie and Lucy Bieler. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Leona Katz Bieler and his dear friend Minnie Cohen.
Born in Fall River, MA to Rose and Samuel Bieler, survived by siblings Irving Bieler, Helen Bieler and Leah Pearlberg. He was predeceased by his siblings Anna Glassman, Morris Bieler, Edith Lansky and Francis Horvitz. He is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He attended Durfee High School in Fall River, MA followed by service in the Army Air Corp as a Weather Observer in the 19t Weather Squadron during World War II. He obtained his BBA from Boston Univ. He was a 32 Degree Mason, Mount Hope Lodge, AF&AM in Fall River, Mass.
The proprietor of the Edward A. Bieler Insurance Agency for 60 years. A member of Beth El Synagogue for many years, serving as Treasurer and member of the board of directors.
The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care for their extraordinary help and support the last few years in caring for our Dad. A very special thank you to Ashley C., Jill, and Nicole. In addition we would like to thank his direct care givers for all they have done for Daddy and the love and respect they showed to him.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 27, 2018 at 1 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave. Burial will follow in Beth El Cemetery. Shiva will be observed immediately following the funeral through Saturday evening at the Courtyard by Marriot in Waterbury as well as at the home of Philip Bieler in NY.
