NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Edna J. (Armstrong) Braun, 99, of Naugatuck, passed away early Wednesday morning Oct. 27, 2010, at her home. She was the widow of John Braun, who passed away in 1975 after 35 years of marriage.
Mrs. Braun was born in Waterbury, Aug. 14, 1911, a daughter of the late Edward and Marie "Bertha" (Knobel) Armstrong and had been a Naugatuck resident since moving here in 1977 from Waterbury. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church of Waterbury. She was also a member of Winona Rebeckah Lodge, No 8, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
She leaves her four children, a son, Jack Braun and his wife, Mary Ann of Wolcott; 3 daughters, Dale DiFronzo and Barbara Levay both of Naugatuck, and Sandra Priestley andd her husband Kenneth of Beacon Falls; 7 grandchildren, Beth Wolf and her husband John, Michael Braun and his wife Lisa, Richard DiFranzo and his wife Jennifer, Joy Mullin and her husband Anthony, Jacqueline Pillis and her husband Vincent, Marc Levay and his wife Debi and Sandra Levay; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday Oct. 30th, 2010 at 10 am at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday Oct. 29th from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 2030 East Main St., Waterbury, 06705-2607.
