Edith Erb

Cheshire - Edith Emily Erb, 93, formerly of East Mitchell Ave., Cheshire, CT, passed away Thursday evening October 29, 2009 at the Lutheran Home in Southbury.

Miss Erb was born June 2, 1916 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Albert and the late Emily (Wilke) Erb and graduated Wilby High School. She was a long time Cheshire resident where she owned and operated the popular Aileen Beauty Salon. She was a devoted member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church where she participated in all aspects of church life.

Miss Erb was predeceased by her beloved brother Bill and sister-in-law Gladys.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the Cheshire Lutheran Church 660 West Main St. at 10 a.m. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 157, Cheshire, CT 06410 or to the Lutheran Social Services Foundation of New England, 888 Worcester St., Suite 160, Wellesley, MA 02482. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
