Joan Dunn

Naugatuck, CT Joan M. (Green) Dunn, 84, formerly of Naugatuck and the widow of Wallace G. “Wally” Dunn, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Novant Health in Matthews, NC.

Joan was born September 11, 1930 in Waterbury, CT a daughter of the late Frank and Mary “Mae” (Hogan) Green and had lived most of her life in Naugatuck, CT.

Joan is survived by her son, Michael W. Dunn and his wife Kimberly of Litchfield, CT; her son, Dr. Stephen Dunn and his wife Amy of Pittsburgh, PA; her daughter, Lynn Griffiths and her husband Robert of Charlotte, NC; 14 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was predeceased by her daughter Kara Dunn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 24, 2015 at 12:30 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue. To honor Joan’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
