WATERBURY - Douglas Roberts, 59, passed away Tuesday May 3, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side.
Doug was born November 5, 1951 in Southington, the son of the late Robert C. and Ruth (Wills) Roberts.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and reading westerns and was a huge joke teller. He was known by those around him "to always be there in times of need".
He is survived by his longtime companion and Fianc Kathy Barbieri and her son Jeremy of Waterbury, three children; Dawn Roberts of Naugatuck, Kristopher Roberts also of Naugatuck and Doug Roberts of Florida. Douglas also leaves two brothers, Dennis Roberts and wife Betsy of Woodbury, David Roberts and wife Janice of Plymouth and three sisters, Debra Nadeau and husband Joseph of Cheshire, Donna Osterman and husband Bruce of Bethlehem, Dale Hennessey and husband Mark of Woodbury, along with seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements - Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Assoc., P.O. Box 502, Milford, CT 06460. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
