Dorothy Swanson

Cheshire - Dorothy Graham Swanson, 88, wife of the late Arthur J. Swanson Jr., peacefully departed this life on Monday November 23, 2009 in the early morning hours at her home after a period of failing health. She was surrounded by loved ones and cared for by her daughter, Suzanne; son-in-law, Jim and her beloved grandson, Jared. She was grateful for them each and every day.

Dorothy was born on August 25, 1921 in South Windsor, CT, the daughter of the late Maude Townsend Graham & John Wilson Graham. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Isabelle Hederman, Jason Graham, John Graham, Mildred Wells, Lila VanAusdall, Mabel Cook, Doris Small (her twin).

Dorothy was an inspiration to be; honest, hardworking, and faithful having a

passion for life, the truth, and the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She will be

sadly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves behind a daughter Suzanne S. Lawson, a son-in-law, James D. Lawson and a grandson Jared P. Lawson, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Cheshire, CT on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at The Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor, CT. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
