Dorothy Mirkhani

CHESHIRE - Dorothy Pestey Mirkhani, 82, passed away July 12, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of the late Dr. Mahmood Mirkhani.

Mrs. Mirkhani was born April 1, 1929 in New Haven the daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Dabralski) Pestey. She was raised in New Haven attending St. Mary's Academy and graduating from St. Raphael's School of Nursing. She later worked at St. Raphael's Hospital as a nurse anesthetist. During her years in New Haven she was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church. After moving to Cheshire in 1958 she was a communicant of St. Bridget Church.

Mrs. Mirkhani is survived by her sons Peter and his wife Leslie of New Milford and Paul of Norwalk; her daughter Mary Mirkhani Fletcher and her husband James of Cheshire; her six grandchildren Cameron, Chelsea, Julianne, Sarah Grace, Mary Kate and Sarah Lynn; her cousins Maryann Smith Mori, Ilona Sembor Clark, and from the Pestey Family Janet, Margaret, James and Patty.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday July 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget Church in Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., until the funeral procession leaves for church.
