Dorothy Hawkins

Dorothy F. (Jenzell) Hawkins, 89, formerly of 22 Fairview Lane Naugatuck, died Saturday December 27,2008 at Abbott Terrace Health Center in Waterbury. She was the widow of John E. Hawkins.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Naugatuck, February 19, 1919 a daughter of the late Edward and Madeline (Pranitis) Jenzell. She attended local schools and graduated from Naugatuck High School. She retired from the Homer D. Bronson Co. where she was secretary to the president and

Vice-President. After her retirement she,.worked at Delson Hinge in Wolcott and The Chittenden Insurance Agency in Naugatuck.

She leaves a sister, Phyllis Jenzell of Naugatuck. She was predeceased by daughter, Darlene L. (Hawkins) Bragg.

Dorothy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and sister. She had the most wonderful happy personality and was an accomplished seamstress, cook and baker. She will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Abbott Terrace Health Center, 2-West for the wonderful care they provided Dorothy during the last 3 years she was a patient there.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 7th, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck.
