Wolcott – Dorothy Sechow, 95, died peacefully at Wolcott View Manor on June 6, 2020. Dorothy was born in Waterbury January 6, 1925, daughter of the late Jacob and Emma (Reihl) Sechow, Dorothy lived most of her life in Waterbury and retired from Colonial Bank.
Dorothy was an avid painter and enjoyed all types of crafts. She loved going to Mill Plain Union church on Sunday, where she had many friends, and visiting with all her nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Fritz and Philip Sechow, her sisters, Tillie Duprey, Louise Cook, Elizabeth Barry, Christine Sechow and her niece Elnora Mc Issac.
She is survived by her nieces Elaine Pierce, Geri Thomas, Jeannette Whelan, Linda Salerno her nephews Robert Salerno, Jack Duprey, Christopher Sechow, Stephen Sechow and their families. Her loss will be felt deeply by her numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, June 10th 11:30 at Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Road (across from Chase School) in Waterbury. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to your favorite charity.
