Dorothy E.(Watterworth) LaRosa, age 70, of Waterbury entered into rest on Monday, September 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Mark LaRosa. Dorothy was born on September 17, 1944 in Waterbury, daughter of the late David and Carolyn (Davis) Watterworth, Sr.
She was a Home Health Care Aide for VNA and also a CNA at Park Manor. Dorothy was an exquisite gourmet cook, and “CEO” of 12 Fern Circle. She and her family had many memorable times at their house in Cape Cod. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, and a remarkable grandmother, having helped raise all of her cherished grandchildren.
She is the beloved mother of Lynn Semple and her husband Craig of Clinton, Lori Rinaldi and her partner Anne Candela of New Haven and Mark Rinaldi and his wife Melixa of Bristol; grandmother of Jordan and Madison Heidkamp; Nathan Rinaldi; Cole Semple; and Zackery and Makayla Bunker; and sister in law of David LaRosa and his wife Patricia Denhup of Fairfield. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and many treasured friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers David, Jr., Dennis and Douglas Watterworth.
Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Gaylord Hospital and to the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, Xavier 3, for all of their compassionate and professional care given to Dorothy during her illness.
All services for Dorothy will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with her arrangements.
