Waterbury ' Dorothy L. Curtis, 83, formerly of Union St., passed away Saturday January 9, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of Raymond Curtis.
Mrs. Curtis was born July 31, 1926 in Bermuda the daughter of the late John and Amy (Hassell) Hoare. She was an Assembler for both Scovill and Century Brass in Waterbury. She was also a member of the Retirees Club for both companies.
Besides her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Curtis is survived by her daughter Sharon Taylor and her husband Peter of Waterbury; her sisters Phyllis Anderson of CA, Gloria DeSilva and Olive Moniz both of Bermuda; her three granddaughters Jennifer Correia and her husband Lawrence of Bermuda, Amy Connelly and her husband Ryan of Newtown, and Dayna Taylor of Waterbury; three great grandchildren James, Justin and Victoria; and many nieces and nephews. Her brother Cyril Hoare and her sister Peggy Rego predecease her.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dayna Taylor and the entire staff at Cheshire House for their excellent care and compassion.
Arrangements ' Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheshire House, 3396 East Main St., Waterbury, Ct. 06705. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.
