Doris Havas Rogan, age 93, of Cheshire, CT, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family with love on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at YNHH. She was born in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, PA in 1929, the daughter of the late Denes “Dan” and Teresa “Tess” Maschi Havas.
Doris grew up in Philadelphia, graduated high school and then studied Secretarial at Pierce Business College. She married Edward A. Rogan (deceased) in Philadelphia, moved to Springfield, MA then to Cheshire, CT in 1958 where she resided for the remainder of her life. Mother of 7 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She worked at Yale University and upon retirement became a Co-Founder of (YURA) Yale Union Retirees Association. Also an artist, she loved studying Art Appreciation at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. She was one beautiful soul who can now rest peacefully. Her creativity, grace, and humility will live on in the legacy of the beautiful family she created and in all who knew her.
Mother to: Barbara “Bonnie” Badger (deceased), Donna Darcy (Len), Joan Burns (Mike), Raymond, Edward, Denes “Dan”, and Stephen. Grandmother to: Sean Burns (deceased), Courtney Burns, Clarise Darcy Robinson (Dylan), and Leonard IV Darcy (Samantha). Great Grandmother to: Lennon and Brooks Robinson. Sister to: Barbara Miller of FL. Her passion for activism and creativity will live on in those who loved her. We love you mom!!!
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 S. Main St, Cheshire, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, CT (please meet directly at church). Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT.
