CHESHIRE - Doris (Gremmel) Black, 96, passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home at Elim Park Place. She was the wife of the late William Black.
Doris was born July 8, 1918 in Rutherford, NJ, the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel (Olson) Gremmel. She was a longtime Cheshire resident, a life member and former secretary of the Cheshire Historical Society as well as volunteer at the Cheshire Public Library.
Doris always enjoyed golf and bowling, both into her 90s. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and knitting for charity.
She is survived by her daughters Darcy B. Keough and Jill B. Rochford both of Cheshire; her four grandchildren David E. Rochford and Christine R. Robidoux, both of Cheshire, Jocelyn K. Judge (Jon) of New Hampshire and Megan F. Keough of Southington; her ten great grandchildren David, James, Brett & Taylor Rochford, Matthew, Bradley & Philip Robidoux, Jaden Judge, Ellie & Mason Kaminski along with several Nieces and a Nephew. Doris was predeceased by her Grandson, Douglas M. Rochford and her son-in-laws John Keough and David Rochford.
Arrangements – Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
