Dorine H. Rowley

Dorine H. (Durr) Rowley, age 94, of Naugatuck entered into rest on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Wolcott View Manor. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas G. Rowley. Dorine was born on March 29, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late John A. and Florine (Armstrong) Durr, and has been a Naugatuck resident since 1930.

Dorine was a Naugatuck High School graduate, Class of 1940, following graduation she was employed with Uniroyal as a secretary for 39 years. She was an active parishioner of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, UCC, a member of the Choir, and the Women’s Christian Fellowship. Dorine enjoyed her pets and playing cards and loved Bingo.

Dorine is the beloved aunt of Jill Tomasiello and her husband, Louis of Wolcott, Jana Feeney of South Windsor, Joel Subataitis of Waterbury, Michael Rowley of New Milford, and several other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jean and Louise and many loving great nieces and great nephews; and was predeceased by her sister, Arletta Subataitis.

Friends are invited to greet her family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 5PM to 6PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 6PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Marilyn B. Kendrix of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, UCC officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of her family at her family plot in Weller Cemetery, Roxbury.
