MIDDLEBURY- Donna Marie Mallory, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant fight with cancer.
Throughout her illness, Donna remained upbeat and positive, inspiring many with her infectious smile and unwavering spirit.
Donna was born April 4, 1943, in Waterbury, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Donald and Marie (Craven) Mallory. She was educated in local schools and worked as a teacher at New Opportunities, Inc., Head Start in Waterbury up until her recent retirement. She loved working with the children there and made many lasting friendships and memories. She was loved and respected by all.
Donna is survived by two sons, Charles Fontano of Watertown and Raymond Mallory of Middlebury; a daughter, Colleen Mallory of Middlebury; a sister, Patricia (Mallory) Garthwait of Waterbury, and a brother, Thomas Mallory, also of Waterbury. She leaves behind the loves of her life, her seven grandchildren, Jeanne, Erica, Samantha, Tommy, Veronica, Chucky, and Brayden, and her two great-grandchildren Jeannie and PJ. She also leaves a niece and several nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffery Mallory, and her granddaughter Rebecca.
Arrangements - A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11:00 am at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 289 Willow St, Waterbury. To honor Donnas’ Irish heritage and spirit, please wear something green that day. There are no calling hours, and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting with the arrangements.
