Donald Zak

CHESHIRE; Mr. Donald F. Zak, 61 of Cheshire passed away Thursday May 13, 2010 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the husband of Kathy (Hofmann) Zak.

Donald was born December 3, 1948 in Waterbury a son of the late Joseph and Katherine (May) Zak and has been a Cheshire resident since 1975. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and Boston College earning his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He was Vice President of Finance at Hobson and Motzer Inc. in Durham and former President and Treasurer of the Connecticut Tooling and Machine Association. An avid fan of Boston College sports, Mr. Zak always enjoyed his time on Martha's Vineyard and was a Communicant of Saint Bridget Church.

Donald's family would like to thank Dr. Jill Lacy and her staff for their care and concern.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Andrew D. Zak of Houston, TX, his daughter Jennifer K. Zak of Boston, brothers Kenneth Zak of Clinton, William Zak of Darien and Kevin Zak of Naugatuck, his sisters, Katherine Peltonen of Goffstown, NH, Frances Mucci of Wallingford, Christine Zak of Saratoga, CA and Lori Zak of Naugatuck and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Bridget Church 175 Main Street in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Road Branford, CT. 06405.
