WATERBURY-Mrs. Diamond R. (D'Aversa) Ford, 87 of Waterbury passed away Tuesday November 2, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Eugene P. Ford.
Mrs. Ford was born March 2, 1923 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John D'Aversa and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was educated in Waterbury Schools and had worked in the cafeteria at Waterbury Hospital retiring in 1985 after 42 years of service. Mrs. Ford was a Communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
She leaves her daughter, Kathryn A. Morgan of Southbury, her sons, Raymond Ford of Pinehurst, NC, William Ford of Farmingdale, NJ and Lawrence Ford of Waterbury, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday November 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 192 Robbins Street in Waterbury. Friends are asked to gather directly at church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Connecticut Affiliate 350 Church Street Hartford, CT 06103. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue has care of arrangements.
