GRAND JUNCTION, CO Arminda R. DePinho, 103 years old, was born on April 26, 1921.
Our beloved mother, Arminda DePinho has passed away on August 23, 2024 in Grand Junction,
Colorado, her home of 13 years. Prior to moving to Colorado Mom and Dad lived in Naugatuck, CT
and Bonita Springs, FL.
Mom was born and raised in Naugatuck Connecticut. She was predeceased by her husband of 65
years, Aurelio Norton DePinho. Surviving her are her seven children and their spouses, Arminda
Murtha and husband Harold, Kathy Gruner, Aurelio Norton DePinho Jr, and wife Francine, Denise
Merz and husband Ken, Loretta Ferrara and husband Frank, Darlene Hall and husband Stephen and
Ronald DePinho and wife Mary. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews and her loving sister Aurora Wenzel of California.
Mom was active in the PTA at St. Francis School and the Daughters of Isabella at the Portuguese
Club. She also had many years of volunteering at the Polls on Election Day, believing everyone of
age should vote.
Seven children made for a lively household. Mom was a fabulous cook and many lively discussions
and memories were made around the dinner table. Her culinary skills of traditional Portuguese
cuisine and American dishes were always greeted with rave reviews. With such a large family and
many friends and the love of cooking for a large gathering, Mom always made room for guests for
dinner.
Her life was full of love, travel, great food and her family and friends. With such a fulfilling life she
finally claimed she didn’t feel her age “till I hit 100 years old”! We all should be so fortunate to live
such a life, fulfilled with love, happiness and health.
