Dennis Joseph O'Connor

Dennis Joseph O’Connor, 69 of Torrington, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Wednesday October 5, 2022 at his home.

Dennis was born January 22, 1953, to the late Joseph and Theresa (Herb) O’Connor. He was their only child and their light and joy. He was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science. Dennis was a librarian at Naugatuck Valley Community Technical College retiring with over 20 years of service and imparting a love of reading and stories with all his children. He was an extremely kind and generous man, devoting his time at many blood drives over the years. Dennis was an avid comic book collector and was a proud Trekkie and Whovian. Typically softspoken, Dennis came to life when talking about his beautiful granddaughters, sharing trivia, or offering a quip from his infinite supply of ‘corny dad jokes’.

Dennis leaves his son, Joseph O’Connor, his daughters, Elizabeth O’Connor, Louisa Day O’Connor and Carrie Bennett and his granddaughters, Lily and Savannah Bennett.

A private graveside service in celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck has care of arrangements.
