NAUGATUCK - Delores (Jacaruso) Santarsiero, 76, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday June 6, 2015. She was the wife of the late Francis Santarsiero.
Delores graduated from St. Joseph Grammar School in Waterbury and Waterbury Catholic High School. She was retired from the City of Waterbury, however she loved working at Alberts Furniture as the Executive Secretary to Samuel Albert.
She enjoyed visiting with her family, playing board games and frequent trips to the casino. She was a former member of the Naugatuck Fife and Drum Corp Alumni and was proud of her drum corps achievements as well as the many medals she won in competition for playing the fife.
She loved caring for others and nurtured a deep friendship with her neighbors Anne and Henry Krulikowski who predeceased her. Delores enjoyed being in the company of her friend Ralph DiMeco and enjoyed all of the friends she made at Beacon Brook and the loving care the staff provided to her in her last year of life.
Delores is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-Law Wanda and Neil Mascola with whom she made her home; her grandson Neil Anthony Mascola; Merry, the family beagle; her sister Margie DiMeco and her husband Gabriel and their three children, Gabriel, Michael and Margie; and her nephew Joseph Butkevicius. Delores was predeceased by her sister Mary (Jacaruso) Butkevicius and her husband Joseph.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2015, 10:30 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Francis Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until the funeral procession leaves for church.
