Delores A. Sullivan

CHESHIRE- Delores A. Sullivan, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Mid-State Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband John R. Sullivan in 2002 after 49 years of marriage.

Mrs. Sullivan was born July 18, 1931 in New Haven daughter of the late Angelo and Julia (Vanacore) Massari.

Delores worked for several years at McDonald's in Cheshire. She loved working there. A few years into her job, she was promoted to the position of Hostess/Star. She decided to start a birthday club for senior citizens. She wanted them to be happy and feel special. Literally hundreds of people signed up. She cataloged every card by month and date, bought birthday cards by the case and sat down twice a month and mailed out cards to the seniors. They would need to present the card at the counter for a birthday meal of their choice (many would keep the card as a reminder). They were beaming and so was she. It was also not unusual for her to provide transportation for some of the folks who needed rides. She loved her time there and she made a difference to so very many.

She is survived by her two sons Brian Sullivan, and Ronald and his wife Cathi Sullivan; three daughters Leslie Sullivan, Linda Sullivan, and Darrylle and her husband Leif Olsen; a brother Anthony Massari ; and four grandchildren Nina, Joshua, Jacob, and Samantha; two nephews Gary and Scott Replogle; and special friends, Mark Jesensky, and Donna Baylor. Delores was predeceased by her sister Elaine Replogle.

Arrangements- Calling hours for Mrs. Sullivan will be held from 4 to 7 P.M, Monday, January 2, 2017, at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, Cheshire, 06410.
