Ardis Davis

Naugatuck, CT Mrs. Ardis L. Davis, 91, of 117 Lewis Street, died peacefully on January 21, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Mearl Davis.

Mrs. Davis was born June 20, 1932 in Fort Fairfield, ME daughter of the late Donald and Olive (Linn) Allen. She was educated in New Hampshire and has lived most of her life in Naugatuck. She was retired from Airpax of Cheshire where she worked for 25 years. Ardis enjoyed traveling, reading and crocheting.

Ardis is survived by 3 sons, Edward Davis; Terry Davis and Mearl Davis; 2 daughters, Lorraine Makowsky and her husband, Michael and Penny Greensway and her husband, William; 2 brothers; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Ardis was predeceased by her daughter, Linn Asplund, her sister, Nancy Dalpe and her brother, Thomas McLaughlin.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Ardis’s life on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. A service, officiated by her son, Edward Davis, will take place at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at a later date.
