NAUGATUCK- David Anderson Platt, 77, of Naugatuck, CT and Englewood, FL passed away Thursday evening October 11, 2012 at the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Ruby (Boggs) Platt.
David was born August 30, 1937 in Waterbury, a son of the late William Platt Jr. and the late Adeline (Clark) (Platt) Piercey and grew up in Waterbury and Middlebury, CT. He attended Crosby High School and Southern Connecticut University. David retired from Esselte Meto Inc. in 1990, after 25 years of service where he served as Sales Manager for the Eastern Division. He was a Marine Corp Veteran and an active member of the Eagle and Moose Lodge and a member of Shepherd-Salem Lodge, # 78 A.F & A.M. of Naugatuck
Besides his devoted wife Ruby of 52 years, he leaves two daughters, Kimberly Lockwood and Robin Platt, his two sons David Platt Jr. and Darrin Platt, as well as his four grandchildren Decker Platt, Quincy Platt, Robert and Elizabeth McEvoy. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Platt
Private services with burial in Middlebury Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
