David D. Dundas, 76, of Watertown and Middlebury, beloved husband of 50 years to Karen M. Dundas, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. David was born on February 25, 1947 in Waterbury, CT to the late Christopher S. Sr. and Nina Cain Dundas.
David was a member of the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department since 1970, attaining the rank of Lieutenant and Captain and was a veteran member at the time of his passing. He also served as an EMT on Middlebury Fire Department Ambulance and AMR Ambulance. He worked as a machinist in several area factories, including American Brass and Ansonia Brass. After his retirement, David worked in the hardware department of Home Depot, a job he enjoyed very much!
David enjoyed his time as a member of the fire department and his work as an EMT. He loved spending time with his family and adored any time spent with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Karen, David leaves behind his daughter, Amy Kindt and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Alexander and Brianna Kindt; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings, Christopher S. Dundas, Jr. and Carol Dundas Pillsbury.
David’s family would like to thank the staffs of both Apple Rehab of Watertown and VITAS of Middlebury, for their kindness and compassionate care of David. Thanks to all of them, David’s passing was calm and peaceful.
