David Battle

CHESHIRE - David Battle, 80, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Elim Park in Cheshire, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lorraine (Papa) Battle.

Mr. Battle was born December 10, 1937 in Boston, MA, a son of the late George and Rose (McCarthy) Battle. In his youth he enjoyed spending time near the submarine base in Groton.

Mr. Battle had served as a Commissioner in Troop 91 of the Boy Scouts of America and had worked in the Banking industry as a Teller and a Bookkeeper. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Battle was a sales and service representative, working for the Hobart Corporation as well as K and L Industries. In his later years he worked for Dowling Ford in Cheshire.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Mr. Battle is survived by his sons, David, and his wife, Nicole of East Haven, George, and his wife Michelle of Cheshire. He will also be missed by his five grandchildren, Ashleigh, Peter, Mary, Katie, and Emily. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Battle and Robert Battle, and his sister, Cynthia Johnson.

Arrangements – Funeral services for Mr. Battle will be held on Thursday August 23, 2018 with the funeral procession leaving the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street at 10:30 a.m. and proceeding to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening, August 22nd, from 5 to 7 P.M.
