NAUGATUCK - Daniel A. Ruocco, Jr., 69, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Esther (DeWitt) Ruocco.

Mr. Ruocco was born December 29, 1947 in Waterbury, the son of the late Daniel A. and Anna (Desko) Ruocco Sr. He was a lifelong Naugatuck resident growing up in the Cotton Hollow section of town. After many years as a machine operator, Mr. Ruocco was a school crossing guard for several years, most recently in the Millville Ave area. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck and enjoyed fishing, gardening and sports. He was a huge supporter of all New York sports teams such as the Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks. Mr. Ruocco was extremely active in his children's and grandchildren's lives attending and coaching their games. Above all he loved taking care of his family.

Besides his wife of 42 years, Mr. Ruocco is survived by his son Daniel Ruocco and his wife Stacie of Wolcott; his daughters April Ruocco of Naugatuck, and Melissa Ruocco and her husband John Kolodziej of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Robin, Emily and Troy; his aunt Julie Devon; his cousins Judy Hannon and Bobby Harbul; his best friends Charlie And Terese Wasoka; and “adopted son”, Doug Haynes.

Arrangements – The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck, 214 Meadow Street. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck.
