Gil Da Rocha Sr

Naugatuck, CT Gil Manuel DaRocha, Sr., 75, died peacefully on September 23, 2022 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury.

Gil was born April 25, 1947 in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal son of the late Manuel and Ermelinda DaRocha. Gil lived in Naugatuck for most of his life and he worked for over 30 years as a machine operator. He was a proud member of Clube Uniao Portuguesa and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Gil is survived by his son and daughter in law, Gil M. DaRocha, Jr. and Isabel DaRocha; his granddaughters, Catarina DaRocha and Abigail DaRocha all of Newtown, CT; his brother, Carlos Rocha of Naugatuck and his former wife, Hortense D. DaRocha of Naugatuck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Everyone attending is asked to please meet at church. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
