NAUGATUCK — Mr. Steve P. Csengo, 95, of 81 Warren Ave., died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Helen (Marczewski) Csengo.

Mr. Csengo was born in Duquesne, Pa., on Aug. 15, 1915, son of the late Paul and Julia (Toth) Csengo. He was retired from Peter Paul Inc. in Naugatuck, where he had worked for many years, and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1946 in Naugatuck.

Mr. Csengo enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with his family, and he was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Besides his wife, Mr. Csengo is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Tucker of Waterbury, a son, Stephen Csengo and his wife, Kathy, of Naugatuck; a sister, Elizabeth Davow of Czechoslovakia; four grandchildren, Michael Tucker and his wife, Denise, Melissa Wig and her husband, Andy, Deborah DeGennaro and her husband, Jake, and Stephen Csengo; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jolan Matusz, and a brother, Paul Csengo.

The funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck 06770.
