East Berlin, CT Ida Jane Coppola, 88, of East Berlin, formerly of Naugatuck and Waterbury, died peacefully on April 10, 2024 after a brief illness.
Ida was the youngest daughter of the late Anthony Coppola Sr. and Genevieve (Caliento) Coppola. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Coppola and Anthony Coppola Jr. and sister, Doris Tynan.
A woman of deep faith, Ida was a devoted parishioner of St Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck for many years. Her faith led her on many spiritual pilgrimages throughout life. She traveled to Vatican City, Fatima, Lourdes, and Medjugorje.
Ida was also a talented artist and seamstress. Her nieces will always treasure her landscape paintings of various scenes throughout New England as well as her exquisite quilts.
Ida’s family would like to thank the Vitas Connecticut Hospice team of Waterbury for their kind and compassionate care. Ida leaves her nieces Patricia Schwartz (Mark) of Orange and Karen Bogli (Todd) of Middletown.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following at Saint Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave, West Haven. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
