Waterbury- Monique (Gelinas) Collin, 82, of 2221 East Main Street, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Lucien Collin.
Mrs. Collin was born on October 15, 1927 in St. Matthieu, Quebec, Canada a daughter of the late Athanase and Albertine (Deziel) Gelinas. Monique loved to travel, crocheting and knitting and was an active member of her community and a communicant of St. Peter and Paul Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Marcel Collin of Watertown and Shirley Dumas of Waterbury and several cousins.
The funeral will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect to St. Peter and Paul Church, Waterbury for a mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
