Nellie Clapp Century Brass retiree
WATERBURY — Nellie (Sears) Clapp, 98, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Wallace Clapp.
Mrs. Clapp was born on March 30, 1915 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Kater Sears and Isa (Welch) Sears. She was retired from Century Brass Co. in Waterbury, where she worked for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Jones and her husband Hayward, of Waterbury; her granddaughter, Robin Clapp; seven step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her two sons, Floyd Clapp and Wallace Carnegie.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury St., Waterbury. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Prospect, is in charge of the arrangements.
