Christine Montagna

Christine Montagna, age 96, of Cheshire entered into rest on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Elim Park Health Care Center. She was the devoted wife of the late John C. Montagna for over 60 years. Christine was born on August 23, 1923 in New Haven, daughter of the late Vincent and Angelina (Tamaro) Vecchio.

Christine was raised and started her family with John in West Haven, they came to Cheshire in 1988. She was a bookkeeper for Congress Printers and homemaker. Both she and John and her family enjoyed visiting relatives on the weekends and going out for family dinners.

She is the beloved mother of Paul Montagna and his wife, Margie of Cheshire and Davenport, FL; and Ronald Montagna and his wife, Marianne of Medford, OR. Christine is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Melanie, Michael, Matthew and James; 2 cherished great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Pat, Alfred and Charles Vecchio and Lucy Perry and Alice Nazzaro.

Funeral Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with her care. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, South Central Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518.
