CHESHIRE - Chelso V. Pivirotto, 90, passed away July 12, 2011 at Masonicare of Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Carmen (Alvarez) Pivirotto. They were married for 62 years.
Mr. Pivirotto was born February 17, 1921 in Cheshire. He was the son of the late Ejidio and Gema (Belfi) Pivirotto. He was a longtime resident of Cheshire where he was a communicant of St. Bridget Church and was employed at the Waverly Tavern.
Mr. Pivirotto was a proud WWII Air Force Sergeant serving in the 8th Air Force. He flew many missions over occupied Europe. He was awarded several oak leaf clusters for missions completed. He also was awarded a good conduct medal for bravery in action and the Distinguished Flying Cross. His hobbies included fishing, cooking and especially his love of gardening.
Mr. Pivirotto is survived by his sons Richard and his wife Jill of Leverett, MA, Larry and his wife Melanie of Cheshire, CT and Philip of Brisbane, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kalicia Pivirotto of San Francisco, CA and Richard Cooke of Cheshire, CT.
Arrangements - A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday July 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonicare of Wallingford, 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT, 06492. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, is assisting with arrangements.
