Charles V. Hightower

CHESHIRE – Charles V. Hightower, 71, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014. He was the husband of Elaine (Scott) Hightower.

Mr. Hightower was born January 26, 1943 in Evarts, KY the son of Kathleen (Ball) Hightower of Flemingsburg, KY and the late Vernon Hightower. His career in the U.S. Army began when he served his country during the Vietnam War where he obtained various commendations and citations. During his career he obtained the rank of Sgt. Major before his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he worked for the Murphy Security Service.

Besides his wife of over 30 years and his mother, Mr. Hightower is survived by his daughters Sandra Valenti of East Haven, Susan Hightower of AL, and Trudy Renninger of PA; his son Charles Hightower Jr. of AL; his sisters Bettye Masters and Janet Leet both of KY; his grandchildren Kayla, Jordana, Leslie, Laura, Alma, Joseph, Joshua, Jakob, Mara, Justin, Austin and Colin; and his great grandchildren Scarlett, Liam and Jordan. Besides his father, Mr. Hightower is predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Scantlin.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday August 15, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire.
