Mr. Charles Passaggio, 87, of Cheshire died Sunday April 12, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Virginia (Dolan) Passaggio.
Mr. Passaggio was born July 23, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Joseph and Assunta "Susie" (Monachino) Passaggio and was a longtime Cheshire resident. He was a graduate of City College earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical engineering and was also a graduate of NYU earning his Master's Degree in Business Administration. He was a Mechanical Engineer and Engineering manager for Scovil, Mfg and Altair retiring in 1995 with over 50 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Engineering Corps, training in the Aberdine Proving Grounds and later serving in Korea. Mr. Passaggio was a Communicant of St. Bridget Church.
Besides his wife of 63 years, he leaves his son, Dennis Passaggio of Topanga Canyon, CA, his brothers and sisters, Josephine Lotto, Jenny Murphy, Jerry Passaggio and Jimmy Passaggio all of Brooklyn, NY, his grandchildren, Peter Gibson, Amy Parsons and Matthew Gibson all of Fort Wayne Ind, and Jenna Passaggio of Topanga Canyon, CA, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who love him dearly. He was predeceased by his daughter Joanne Passaggio of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Funeral services for Mr. Passaggio will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main Street. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.
