CHESHIRE – Charles M. Amodeo, 81, passed away peacefully into his eternal home with Jesus on October 21, 2019, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the loving husband of Theresa (Walsh) Amodeo.
Mr. Amodeo was born February 11, 1938 in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph and Marcella Amodeo. He was retired from American Brands where he was employed as a salesman. Mr. Amodeo proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Greenland. In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed golf and bowling, along with his teammates at the Brooklyn Bowling League. He raised five German shepherd dogs and currently has a cat named Sparky.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Amodeo is survived by his brother, Robert Amodeo of Chicago, IL. He was predeceased by his brother, Fr. Joseph Amodeo, and his sister, Sr. Rosemary Amodeo. Charlie also leaves his sister-in-law Lisa Bellemare, and her husband, John, who were very helpful and supportive to both Charlie and his wife during this emotionally painful time. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 25, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, 405 Allen Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
