WOLCOTT – Charles L. Mulholland, 72, passed away March 31, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband and BFF of JoAnn (Scarpulla) Mulholland.
Charley was born November 12, 1946, in Waterbury the son of the late William and Rose (Storto) Mulholland Sr. He was a longtime Waterbury resident where he graduated from Crosby High School class of 1964. He was active with his high school reunion committees planning their 25th and 50th reunions. He worked at the Country Club of Waterbury for over 42 years where before the advent of GOOGLE he was affectionately known as “The Answer Man”. Charley was a member of the United States Army National Guard and chaired the Waterbury Selective Service Board of Appeals.
He was a lifelong Phillies fan in spite of the many times they broke his heart. He could be regularly found at his “home away from home” Domar’s Restaurant where for many years he organized the annual road rally.
Besides his wife of 37 years, Charley is survived by his step-son Joseph Vige and his wife Beth and their daughter Jodi of Naugatuck; his step-daughter Joy Morrison and her husband Keith and their children Mick and Lucy of Fairfield; as well as his cherished friends at Domar’s Restaurant. Besides his parents, Charley is predeceased by his brother William Mulholland Jr. with whom he was proud to say he never exchanged a harsh word.
Arrangements – Visitation for Charley will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday April 4th, at 9:30 and proceed to St. Michael’s Church, 62 St. Michael's Dr., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 74 Central Ave., Waterbury, CT 06702.
