WATERBURY; Miss Catherine C. Hamilton, 85 of Waterbury, died on Friday July 15, 2011.
Miss Hamilton was born on January 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy (Kenney) Hamilton. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and attended Bentley College. Ms. Hamilton was employed by Colonial Bank & Trust Company for nearly 40 years and retired as one of its first female vice-presidents. Her passions included golf, bowling and the UCONN basketball teams.
She is survived by Bob Crane, her brother-in-law, niece Donna Crane of Chester, N.J., nephews Robert Crane of Waterbury, Stephen Crane of Enfield and Mark (Joan) Crane of Watertown. She also leaves several grandnephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lillian Hamilton Yoniak and Dorothy Hamilton Crane.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Miss Hamilton will be celebrated on Tuesday July 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main Street in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. If desired memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care 1579 Straits Turnpike Middlebury, CT 06762. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street has care of arrangements.
