Catherine Freismuth

CHESHIRE - Catherine Freismuth, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John S. Freismuth who passed away in 2010.

Mrs. Freismuth was born March 6, 1923 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Bernard and Regina (Eisenhauer) Grubler. She had moved to Cheshire in 1972 and was a communicant and one of the founding families of St. Thomas Becket Church. She was a member of the Cheshire Women’s Club as well as the Red Hat Society. She was involved with COCO now known as Abilities Without Boundaries in Cheshire.

She is survived by her three daughters Catherine Robinson and her husband Elwin of Wheeling, WV, Karen Luca and her husband Francis of Meriden, Susan Baker and her husband Paul of Cheshire; her Daughter-in-law, Pam Freismuth; her sister Rose Emma Fields; her brothers William and Bernard Grubler; her grandchildren, Alicia & Adam Piazza, Andrew, Bryan and Meghan Baker, Allison Freismuth and Molly Robinson, Tracy Luca, Chris Luca (Carla), Kevin Luca (Stacey) and Steven Luca; her great grandchildren Audrey, Joshua, Carissa, Bryce, and Weston; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son John W. Freismuth.

Arrangements - A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 Brooksvale Rd. in Cheshire. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
