Catherine A. McMullin, age 67, of Cheshire entered into rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her home. She was the devoted wife of Robert H. “Mac” McMullin for over 48 years. Catherine was born on January 24, 1948 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Frank and Esther (Anderson) Maas.
Catherine and Mac were childhood sweethearts, having met at a youth dance, they fell in love at first sight, and were married soon after. They moved to Cheshire in the 1980’s, where they raised their family and became members of the Cheshire Cats Square Dance Club and parishioners of St. Bridget’s Church. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and volunteered for the Boy Scouts Troop 92. Catherine enjoyed Sudoku and reading, and relished her time spent with grandchildren and 4 dogs.
She is the beloved mother of Christine Solomon and her husband Keith of Cheshire; Dr. Pamela McMullin-Messier and her husband Michael of Ellensburg, WA; Kimberly McMullin of Meriden and Robert A. McMullin of Cheshire. Catherine is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Paul Messier, Caitlin McMullin, Jenny Solomon, Gabby Solomon, Hannah Solomon, Abigail Solomon and Christopher Solomon.
Friends are invited to go directly to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, on Monday, May 18, 2015 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 12PM to 3PM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410.
