HAMDEN- Caryl A. Forselius, 63, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the loving companion of Robert Mark.
Caryl was born July 11, 1947 in New Haven, daughter of Evelyn Lape and the late Joseph Aiello. She was a graduate of Cheshire High School and St. Mary's Nursing School. Caryl's life commitment to caring for others and giving back to her community was evident in everything she did, including her work for the Community Dining Room in Branford; the recycling committee in Hamden; the Hamden Food Bank and Drive; and the Alzheimers' Family Support Group. She loved her time being outdoors, cooking in her kitchen, and riding Marbles at the Black Horse Stables in Bethany. She was magical to her 10 grandchildren who she filled up with love and fairy dust.
Besides her companion, and her mother, Caryl will be missed by her sons, Todd and his wife, Kristen Forselius of Cheshire and Erik and his wife, Anna Forselius of Guilford; her daughters, Kim Forselius and her husband, Kevin Bielen of Hamden, Kristin Forselius and her husband, Sean Ashburner of Lee, NH, and Sarah Forselius of Somerville, MA; a brother, Anthony and his wife, Mary Amato of Cheshire; three sisters, Natalie and her husband, Bob Caprio of Cheshire, Theresa Amato of Bristol, and Donna Aiello and her companion, Lenny Horowitz of Branford; her very close friend and sister-in-law, Nancy and her husband, Jack Lynch of Cheshire; and her two pets, Tucker and Marbles.
Arrangements- A Celebration of Life Service for Caryl will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Spring Glen Congregational Church, 1825 Whitney Ave., Hamden, 06517. Calling hours will be held Wednesday. March 23, 2011 at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations in Caryl's name may be made to the Community Dining Room, 30 Harrison Ave, Branford, CT 06405; Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue, 43 Wilbur Rd., Washington, CT 06777 or the Alzheimer's Association, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518.
