NAUGATUCK - Mrs. Olivia Marques Pereira Cabral, 86, of 69 Highland Ave., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Jaime M. Cabral.
Mrs. Cabral was born in Pinheiro da Bemposta, Portugal, on July 5, 1924, a daughter of the late Domingos Pereira Da Silva and Eugenia Marques. She retired in 1991 from the Naugatuck Glass Company where she had worked for many years, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a very devoted member of Grupo de Cristandade, and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, friends and community.
Mrs. Cabral is survived by four daughters, Rosa Miranda of Naugatuck, Fernanda Miranda of Naugatuck, Odete Valente of Portugal, and Maria Soasa of Portugal; two sons, Jaime Cabral of Seymour, and Marco Cabral of Hamden; a sister, Deolinda Silveira of Portugal; a brother, Casimiro Pereira of Naugatuck; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Antonio Cabral.
The funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the spring. Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
