Kermit Bouley

Prospect, CT Kermit H. Bouley, 89, formerly of Prospect, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2016, at Hartford Hospital, with his family by his side.

Kermit was born the son of Henry and Yvonne (Daigle) Bouley on November 4, 1926, in Eagle Lake, Maine. After graduating from high school in Waterbury, Kermit joined the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War as a mechanic, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. After serving in the Army, Kermit began his 40 year career with Scovill Manufacturing Company, where he earned his Training Certificate as a tool and die maker. Kermit retired from Truelove and Maclean.

Kermit was an avid fisherman and often took his son Gary up to Eagle Lake in Maine for summer fishing trips. Kermit also had a passion for traveling, Kermit and his long time companion, Shirley DePaulo, took many trips around the country, especially many times to Las Vegas, and also to Alaska, Spain, Canada, and many of the National Parks from
Arizona to Wyoming. Kermit and Shirley enjoyed going to see Broadway musicals, movies, and dinners out on the town. Kermit was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Knights of Columbus, serving as a Fisher.

Kermit is survived by his son, Gary Bouley and his wife Patricia, of Wallingford; his grandson, Michael Bouley of California; his granddaughters, Taryn and Kimberlyn Bouley of Wallingford; his brother, Richard Bouleyand his wife, Judy, and many nieces and nephews. He had a special relationship with his goddaughter, Cynthia Possemato. Kermit was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Vincenti) Bouley, his parents and his brothers, Leo Paul, Robert, and Joseph Bouley

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Friends are asked to please meet directly at church. Entombment with military honors will follow in Calvary Garden Mausoleum, Waterbury. Calling hours are Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble at the funeral home Sunday at 6:45pm.
