Bianca Vincenza DeMatties

Bianca Vincenza DeMatties, 20, of Cheshire, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2023, at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. She was born in New Haven on June 19, 2002. She graduated from Cheshire High School in 2020, where she was a member of the Cheshire Rams Marching Band playing the clarinet. She was a fourth-year student at RIT’s College of Engineering Technology, where she served as a Resident Advisor (RA) and participated in many student organizations and activities.

Bianca is survived by her loving parents, Gregory DeMatties & Luisa DeDominicis, stepmother Ashley Minihan, sister Teresa, brother William, and stepbrothers Jaycob and Khalid. She also leaves behind her aunts and uncles Carrie & Mike St.Hilaire, Vera DeDominicis & Joseph Gelsomino, cousins Chad, Zachary and Gillian St.Hilaire, Veronica & Madalen Hopkins, and her loving grandparents Barbara & Scott Peckham, Nick DeMatties, Chris & Bill Minihan, and Dante DeDominicis. Bianca was predeceased by her grandmother Linda DeDominicis and her great-grandmother Teresa Brower.

Bianca loved her family, reading, and drawing. She was interested in photography and took many beautiful pictures which her family will always cherish. She taught her little brother about Pokémon and Zelda; he always feels connected to her when he plays. One of her favorite summer activities was watching the fireworks from the family boat, which was decorated with a flag she had designed. Bianca was a NY Yankees fan and enjoyed games with her family.

Bianca’s family holds her in their hearts as they navigate this difficult journey. Her life will be remembered by family and friends during a visitation on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
