Patricia Biagioni

Patricia Gina Purciello Biagioni “Squibby”, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2021. Pat lost her battle with stage 4 cancer at the age of 76. It would be wrong to say that Pat lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. Pat overcame many illnesses throughout her life, but fought back each and every time.
Patricia born on August 28, 1945 to the late Stephen and Florence (Carbone) Purciello, grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut before moving to Naugatuck. As a young teen, Pat spinned a rifle for the St. Raphael’s Golden Buccaneers marching band. As a young mom, Pat was a Cub Scout den mother and enjoyed making homemade Halloween costumes for her children every year. Pat was a lover of authentic Italian food and loved to grow native tomatoes in rows of pots. Pat once made the local paper that featured her large pots of tomatoes. Pat worked at Big Y supermarket in the floral department for 24 years. She loved making unique floral arrangements and customers requested her by name.
Pat is survived by her husband, Peter J. Biagioni Jr. of 57 years and their three children; Peter Biagioni III, Dawn Czaplicki and her late husband, Robert and Kimberly Freer and her husband Kenneth, three grandchildren; Sarah Freer, Zachary Czaplicki and his wife Shelby and Ethan Freer and his wife Samantha, three great granddaughters; Ariel Odette, Kairi May and Vera Augustine, the light and joy of her life, her brother and his wife, Robert Purciello and his wife, Rita, several nieces and nephew, and cousins. Also left to cherise her memory are her good friends from childhood; Sandy Bongo and Lucielle Salvaggio and her longtime friends and coworkers from Big Y, Mary Dupois and Sheila Ferguson.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Stephen Purciello and sister, Lucielle Zamfino and her husband Richard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101 and the M.S. Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, DC 20090.
On behalf of the family we would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at Waterbury Hospital and Season’s Hospice and Clergy for all their loving support.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who ever knew Pat. Please come help us celebrate her life. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
