Beverly A. Scarpa

Beverly A. Scarpa, 86, of Cheshire, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Scarpa with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage.

Beverly was born July 8, 1937, in Waterbury, to the late Nicholas and Lena (Angiolillo) Iassogna.

She was raised in Naugatuck and graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1955. Beverly attended Post University and worked in the office at Somers Brass Company in Waterbury prior to starting her family.

Bev and Bob lived and raised their children in Naugatuck before moving to Cheshire in 1980. Beverly unselfishly dedicated her life to her husband and her children, as family meant everything to her. Bev took immense pride in caring for her home, which was always immaculate. She also worked as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Homar Molds and Models in Waterbury. Bev liked to read and embroider, but truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire.

Beverly leaves her son, Robert W. Scarpa, Jr. and his wife Susan of New York City; her daughter, Debra Scarpa Malinowski and her husband Stan of Southington; her brother, Dr. Nicholas Iassogna, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Old Saybrook; her uncle, Thomas Iassogna of Bridgeport, several nieces, a nephew, grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Malinowski.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. The funeral procession will leave at 10:45 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Prayers of committal and interment will follow at South End Burying Ground in Southington.
