Beverly Anne Azukas

WATERBURY – Beverly Anne Azukas, 81, passed away Sunday March 17, 2019 at VITAS at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Azukas.
Mrs. Azukas was born January 27, 1938, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Earl C. and Ruth (Johnson) Murgatroy. She was a lifelong city resident where she was a member of the South Waterbury Seniors and the St. Francis Seniors. She was a former member of the Once Young Club of Washington Park.
Mrs. Azukas is survived by her children Cynthia Urso of Waterbury, Mark Azukas of Waterbury, Terri Ross and her husband Stephen of Naugatuck, and Correen Azukas of PA; her brother Robert James Murgatroy and his wife Alberta of Waterbury; her grandchildren Joleen, David and Laura; as well as her great grandchildren Brianna, Devin, Layla and Drake. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Earl and Raymond Murgatroy and her cousin, Gail Morin, who was like a sister to her. She also leaves her best friend of many years, Betty Hayes.

She loved her family and loved to gamble, whether it was horse racing, poker or beating her kids at Cribbage. She had an open, caring heart and made friends easily. She had a special way of befriending people. In 20 minutes she knew someones life story and found a way to bond with them and the feeling was mutual.
Her family would like to thank VITAS Hospice for their care and compassion.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Northfield Cemetery.
