MIDDLEBURY - Betty Jane Ford, 80, passed away Saturday morning at Middlebury Convalescent Home.
Miss Ford was born April 18, 1930 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Harold J. and Julia (Bowen) Ford. She was a lifelong Middlebury resident where she was a member of the Middlebury Congregational Church. She was an Assistant Manager for Southern New England Telephone for 33 years until her retirement in 1986. Miss Ford spent many years volunteering with the elderly in Middlebury and the surrounding area and particularly enjoyed travel and needlework.
Miss Ford is survived by cousins Richard S. Ford of Cornwall and Maureen Dibble of Middlebury along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in California, Connecticut and Massachusetts. She is also survived by devoted neighbors and friends of whom she was very fond.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown. Memorial contributions may be made to Peale Center for Christian Living, 70 Route 22, Pawling, NY 12564.
