Bernice Anderson

Wallingford ' Bernice M. Anderson, 93, of Masonic Ave., and formerly of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday evening April 21, 2009 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Tracy G.W. Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 13, 1916 in Presque Isle, ME the daughter of the late Thomas and Ellen (St. Thomas) Murray. She was a long time Cheshire resident moving to Wallingford in the late 1990's. She was a co-owner and had operated Anderson Tire in Cheshire after her husband's passing. She was a 50 plus year member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire and an active participant at the Masonic Home.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter Diane A. McEwan and her husband John of Cheshire; two grandchildren Tracy McEwan Strollo and her husband Sean of Cheshire and Robin Kittle and her husband Isaac of Manchester, NH; two great grandchildren Roger John Strollo and Suzann Ashley Strollo; two devoted nieces Anita Linsley of Cheshire and Linda Cross of TN as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 3, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 111 Church Dr., Cheshire. Burial will be held in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 111 Church Dr., Cheshire, CT 06410. The Slater Funeral Home of Cheshire, 242 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
